The United States began transferring, on Wednesday, numerous tanks and other types of military vehicles to the Dutch Port of Vlissingen, the capabilities to be transported to Poland and Lithuania, as part of efforts to strengthen NATO’s eastern flank, Reuters reports.

About 1,250 US military vehicles are brought to this port“, said the coordinator of the operation, the American colonel Robert Kellam.

Among the military equipment delivered are M-1 Abrams tanks and Bradley assault vehicles belonging to the 2nd Combat Brigade of the 1st Division at Fort Hood, Texas.

Dutch military forces have secured the area where US military vehicles are stationed before they are transported to Eastern Europe.

As a reaction to the Russian military invasion in Ukraine, the North Atlantic Alliance supplemented the battle groups in the Baltic and Black Sea areas.
