“I discussed with the Prime Minister of South Korea about the opportunity for collaboration between Romania and Korea in the nuclear, battery and carbon capture fields,” PNL MEP Cristian Bușoi announced in a press release.

“These days I lead a Delegation of the European Parliament in South Korea, as president of the Commission for Industry, Research and Energy. The work agenda includes a series of high-level meetings, but also with representatives of industry and European companies that have activity in Korea.
On the sidelines of this visit, today, together with my colleagues, I discussed with the Prime Minister of South Korea, Han Duck-soo about a partnership between the EU and Korea in the field of semiconductors and clean energies and about strengthening bilateral relations. Both the EU and Korea are determined to make every effort to accelerate the transition to a clean energy system. This is the solution both for reaching the climate targets we have and for achieving energy independence, in the case of Europe.
During the talks, the Prime Minister of South Korea also emphasized his country’s desire to invest in nuclear energy systems and to collaborate with the countries of the European Union, which are interested in developing projects in this field.
Romania, with its very large opportunities that it offers in the field of energy, could have a clear benefit from concrete partnerships with the South Korean industry to attract investments in the field of batteries and carbon capture technologies”, says Bușoi’s press release , who is the president of the ITRE Commission in the European Parliament.
