The measure is taken so that the Bucharest Metropolitan Buildings Trust can carry out the works to modernize the platforms, in order to adapt them to the dimensions of the new Imperio trams that will gradually replace the current fleet.

“During the works, passengers who used the “Brașov” station of line 41 can reach the area with buses of lines 138, 221, 222, 232 and 322″, explained those from TPBI.

The Mayor of the Capital Nicușor Dan announced on Thursday that he signed the contract by which the Bucharest Metropolitan Buildings Trust (TCMB) will modernize 14 of the 22 platforms on tram line 41, the other 8 having already been modernized by STB. The works are necessary for the modernization and adaptation of the platforms that will serve the new trams bought by the municipality.

The works involve widening the platforms, making them accessible for people with disabilities, installing protective fences for travelers, traffic signs, urban furniture.

The tram stations whose platforms will be reconfigured are:
1. Agronomy – both senses;
2. Cashier – both ways;
3. Ciurel Bridge – both directions;
4. Orsova – both directions;
5. Camperei Road – both directions;
6. Park Drumul Taberei – both ways;
7. Brașov – both ways.

The first Astra Imperio Metropolitan tram of STB SA has already started to circulate in evidence.
