The second tranche of social cards has 150,000 more beneficiaries than the initial 2.48 million, following the updating of the lists by the Ministry of Labor and Social Solidarity. They will receive the cards by September 3. On September 8, all valid cards will be loaded with the second of the 4 installments worth 250 lei each.
During this week, the representatives of the Romanian Post ensure that there are no eligible beneficiaries who have not received the card, including those who were initially not found at home or who did not respond to the approval. People who are not sure that they are on the list of eligible beneficiaries can ask the Ministry of Labor, while information about the cards that could not be delivered can be requested from the Romanian Post Office, informs the Ministry of European Investments and Projects (MIPE).
“After a difficult first stage in which we managed to issue and distribute cards to approximately 2.5 million beneficiaries, we are already preparing for the second one, which we will complete in the first part of September. Now, with security, the procedure is much more simplified, because the supply is made italicized for all those eligible. To the 2,480,613 beneficiaries in the first tranche, another approximately 150,000 Romanians are added who will receive help for food and hot meals,” he declared the Minister of Investments and European Projects, Marcel Boloş.
The second issue of cards will include people omitted from the initial lists and those who became eligible starting July 1, 2022.
The lists of beneficiaries will be updated by the Ministry of Labor and Social Solidarity by the end of this week, including the new beneficiaries and will be verified by the National Tax Administration Agency, according to the provisions of GEO no. 63/2022, during the next week.
The issuance of the new cards is planned to be completed on August 22, and the delivery by Romanian Post to the beneficiaries is to take place by September 3. The support for food and hot meals related to the second tranche will reach all beneficiaries by September 8, states MIPE.
Vouchers worth 250 lei are charged once every two months, until the end of the year, and these amounts are valid for 12 months from the date of their charge. Thus, if the fourth installment is loaded in December 2022, it can be used until December 2023.
When distributed, the cards are accompanied by letters containing instructions for use (including the PIN code), details of the stores where the cards can be used and a telephone number in case of problems.
The cards can only be used by the beneficiaries. In exceptional cases, in which the beneficiary cannot go to the economic operators to use the aid, then he can entrust the vouchers to a close person, but only together with the identity document.
In order to find out the current balance / amount available on the card and for other information, beneficiaries are asked to call the issuer’s Customer Service.
