Romania won two bronze medals, at C2-1,000 m junior, and K2-1,000 m U23, respectively, in the finals played on Saturday at the European Kayak-Canoe Championships for juniors and youth (Under-23) in Belgrade.

Juniors Adrian Stepan and Andrei Costache placed 3rd in the final of Canoe 2 in the 1,000 m event, with a time of 3min48sec603 / 1000, being overtaken by Hungary (3min41sec336 / 1000) and Poland (3min46sec603 / 1000), reports Agerpres.

In the U23 final of Kayak 2, George Țențea and Darius Zaharia occupied the last step of the podium at 1,000 m with a time of 3min17sec162 / 1000. The first places were occupied by Italy (3min14sec288 / 1000) and Bulgaria (3min16sec588 / 1000).

In the third final on Saturday with Romanian participation, the junior Nadia Haidar (Simple kayak) ranked 8th with a time of 4min15sec285 / 1000. The gold medal went to the Hungarian Reka Nemes (3min59sec030 / 1000).

Romanian athletes will compete in seven other finals, scheduled for Sunday, the last day of the Europeans on Lake Sava.
