Constanța City Hall intends to invest over 12.5 million lei, money from European funds for the rehabilitation of the Embiricos House, which is located in the Peninsular Area.

It will be transformed into a regional hub for entrepreneurs in the South East.

The announcement was made by the mayor of Constanța, Vergil Chițac, on his Facebook page:

“We are developing Constanța: 4 offers received for the execution of the works from the new business incubator (Casa Embiricos).
Dear people of Constanta, I am glad to announce that I have taken another important step in terms of creating the headquarters of the new business incubator.

Friday was the last day for the submission of technical and financial documentation and no less than four bids were submitted for the execution of the works, by four private associations. The interest shown for the project is gratifying, especially since it comes after two other tender procedures in which not even a single bid was submitted. The large number of offers shows the increase of the operators’ confidence in the legality of the procurement procedures carried out by Constanța City Hall.

The works are aimed at consolidating and rehabilitating the Casa Embiricos building – the former Palace of Navigation, located in the peninsular area of Constanța (str. Niculae Titulescu no. 13) and in an advanced state of degradation. Specifically, we are talking about works to strengthen the resistance structure, to replace the interior and exterior plumbing, thermal and electrical, architectural works and equipment installation, including a hydraulic elevator.

Thus, the building will be transformed into a business incubator, the final goal being to become the first regional hub for creative industries for entrepreneurs in southeastern Romania. The project has a value of 12.5 million lei (excluding VAT) and is financed by European funds through the ROP 2014-2020. In order to be able to start the works as soon as possible, the specialized apparatus will take care of the evaluation of the four offers and complete it, we hope, as soon as possible. In this way, we want to encourage entrepreneurship and economic dynamics of Constanța to provide the basic conditions for development for young people and all those who choose this path. By helping them grow, so do we. ”
