The Germans from TUI Travel will open new agencies, so that Romanians can buy their dream vacation
TUI Group, the world leader in tourism, present on the Romanian agency market for many years, has big plans, after a challenging period for tourism around the world. Through the local brand TUI Travel Center, it aims to expand the portfolio of tourism products and relies mainly on online sales, but also on the development of the network of agencies in the Transylvania area.
The agency that operates the TUI franchise on the Romanian travel market since 2019, TUI TravelCenter, part of Memento Group, is expanding this year with five new locations.
“These expansion plans were started in the first part of 2020, but were later put on hold in the context of the pandemic that affected the entire economy. The positive evolution of tourism in recent months, favored by the relaxation of travel conditions in most of the tourist areas sought by Romanians, such as: Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria or Spain, has determined us to resume, and also to accelerate the pace of expansion of our project ”, explains Ştefan Joos, general manager of TUI TravelCenter.
What are the most sought after holidays by Romanians
The most sought after holidays for Romanians are charter flights by plane, closely followed by cultural tours, holidays in the country and exotic stays.
The latter are growing sharply even in pandemic conditions, when a significant number of tourists from our country have traveled to destinations such as Zanzibar, Maldives, Dominican Republic or Seychelles.
Thus, the agencies are increasingly relying on offering as varied and complete packages as possible.
“The TUI TravelCenter product portfolio includes all types of integrated travel services and packages. We rely on the distribution of a complex range of stays and tourist programs, organized by Romanian tour operators, as well as dynamic packages, plane tickets, accommodation or other ancillary services, a real travel marketplace. As a TUI Group franchisee, we have access to a whole universe of experiences and accommodation units from all over the world, at the most advantageous rates “, says Joos.
The Germans at TUI want to sell, especially online
The future plans of the Germans from TUI in Romania, focus on facilitating the online sale of holidays and travel services. They want to invest in booking systems and online holiday shops.
At the same time, they plan to extend the network of physical agencies throughout the country.
And we are talking, in particular, about the Transylvania area. Brașov is also the city where the headquarters will be established. And this is because the inauguration of the International Airport in Brasov is expected.
In 2022, TUI will open ten more agencies in the most important cities in Romania.
