The European Central Bank (ECB) on Thursday lowered its economic growth estimate for the eurozone in 2022, Christine Lagarde, president of the institution, told the Belgian agency and RTBF.

For 2021, the European Central Bank estimates an economic growth of the euro area of ​​5.1%, in addition to 5.0%, as was the previous estimate, according to Mediafax.ro.

However, in the wake of supply chain blockages and new restrictions on the new strain of coronavirus, ECB experts have reduced eurozone growth from 4.6% to 4.2% in 2022.

In 2023, the value of the euro area GDP is expected to increase by 2.9% compared to the previous estimate of 2.1%.
