The coach of the women’s handball national team, Adrian Vasile, declared after the training before the match with Norway at the World Championship, that the Romanian team must be 60 minutes at its maximum potential.
Regarding the confrontation with Norway, on Tuesday evening, the head coach of the tricolors stated: “There is no pressure, it is a handball match with the European champion, so it is a joy. It is a match that must create a lot of joy, a lot of ambition. It’s one of the most beautiful games to play. We have 60 minutes to reach our full potential against Norway.
Pivot Alexandra Subţirică also referred to the match with the European champion on Tuesday, pointing out that a victory would be truly the most beautiful gift of Santa Claus.
The Romania – Norway match will take place on Tuesday, at 9.30 pm (live on Digi Sport 2) and is the last in group C. Before that, both teams are qualified in the main groups.
Romania, in group C, has two victories (39-11 with Iran and 38-17 with Kazakhstan), and in the main group stage, the tricolors will play in the company of the first three ranked in group D, which includes the Netherlands, Sweden, Uzbekistan and Puerto Rico.
The matches of the main groups will take place between December 8-13. The first two places in these groups will qualify for the quarterfinals, which will take place on December 14-15, and the winners will play in the semifinals on December 17.
The finals for medals are scheduled for December 19.
The Romanian team marks the 25th participation in the World Cup, being still the only representative, which participated in all editions.
At the last edition of the World Championship, Romania ranked 12th. The podium of the 2019 edition was occupied, in order, by the Netherlands, Spain and Russia.
Romania has four medals in the CM record: gold (1962), silver (1973 and 2005) and bronze (2015).
