A directive at the level of the European Union forbids heating by wood stoves, which would mean a very heavy blow for hundreds of thousands of Romanians. The Minister of Labor, Marius Budai, claims that the measure will be implemented in Romania as well, but will go on a transition period, during which time the gas network will be developed.
“We have approved two extremely important laws in Parliament. With the reduction of VAT for firewood, to compensate for this huge wave of price increases.
This will not happen overnight and is an EU recommendation. It is not aimed at Romania. And there must certainly be a transition period in order to find and implement solutions. It will not be something imposed on Romania overnight.
Certainly solutions must be found so that Trangaz and Romgaz can invest (…) in gas distribution networks, where they do not exist, ”said Marius Budai.
