Cristi Chivu is making a sensation in Europe

Cristi Chivu is making a sensation in Europe. The former captain of the national team took an important step in his coaching career in the summer. The 41-year-old technician took over Inter U19, the youth team of the Italian champion. In September 2020, Cristi Chivu obtained the UEFA PRO license, which allows him to coach any team in the world, at any level, at the famous school in Coverciano. He had generation colleagues, among others, Andrea Pirlo, Thiago Motta, Morgan De Sanctis or Luca Toni.

I started from the bottom, from U14. Then, I was lucky enough to work with U17 and U18, and now I continue the journey to Primavera. I am motivated, I am happy to be with these guys who teach me many things. I was lucky enough to have colleagues who helped me and passed things on to me. Bonacina, Annoni and Zanchetta, for example. But not only and maybe also to Madonna, who has done an excellent job in recent years and to whom we want to thank “, said Cristi Chivu on Inter TV, after he was appointed coach of Inter Primavera.

What the team he coaches has managed

Cristi Chivu kept the modesty that characterized him in his career as a player.

I’ve always tried to learn something from everyone. I was not a phenomenon. I had problems wherever I played. I built my career with my head, adapting my game to what I was able to do. I learned something from each coach. From my father I saw the passion for football, the one that differentiated me too “, added Chivu, according to the same source.

Now, Cristi Chivu’s team is making waves in Europe. The Romanian’s students are one step away from qualifying in the spring of Europe in the UEFA Youth League, the competition in which the youth teams of the teams participating in the Champions League meet. Inter U19 defeated Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 at home on Wednesday in a fifth round match of Group D of the UEFA Youth League.

The only goal was scored by Peschetola, in the 4th minute. The Italians occupy the first position, with 13 points, 3 more than Real Madrid U19. The last stage schedules, on December 7, a real final of the group, Real – Inter. The team on the first place will qualify directly in the eighth finals of the competition, while the occupant of the second place will play, first, in the 16th.

In the championship, Inter U19 occupies, for the time being, the 11th place, but only 2 points away from the positions that ensure the presence in the eliminatory phases of the internal competition.
