On December 21, the Lada West Togliatti plant, a subsidiary of AVTOVAZ, began series production of the Lada Niva Travel SUV.
Dmitry Azarov, the governor of the Samara region, and Yves Karakatzanis, the president of AVTOVAZ, attended the ceremony that marked the exit of the first production car from the assembly line.
At the launch ceremony, AVTOVAZ President Yves Karakatzanis remarked: “This is a great achievement especially for the Lada West Togliatti team, which has effectively managed this important project. Niva has a long and glorious history. More than 650,000 of these cars are currently on the road and off-road in Russia, the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) and other countries. With the return of the legendary name Niva to the Lada family, we open a new page in our history. The appearance of the Lada Niva Travel model has received significant changes, becoming more expressive and more modern. At the front, the masculine character of the car is underlined by a new hood with more voluminous lines, grille and new headlights.
From the sides, the more prominent wheel arches stand out, combined with a new design of the alloy wheels that highlights the off-road performance of the model. The rear also has changes, receiving new taillights, full LED and a more prominent bumper.

The first car launched is an off-road Lada Niva Travel
