DER Touristik Group, a travel agency based in Germany, expands in Romania and announces the completion of the acquisition of the largest network of travel agencies in the country, Travel Brands SA

The acquisition process began in July, when the Eurolines Group’s tourism activities – touring, retail, business travel and incoming, which took place on three separate companies – Touring Europabus (owner of the TUI TravelCenter and Eurolines franchises), Nova Travel and Danubius Travel , owned by Dragos Anastasiu, were transferred to the new company Travel Brands SA, which was sold to the DER Touristik Group.

Following the acquisition, completed on October 4, the DER Touristik group takes over 400 employees, 80 retail agencies, touring and incoming activities and is positioned as the market leader in Romania.

“Everyone who joins the DER Touristik Group brings solid experience to the local market and receives access to the diversity of tourism products and the Group’s European expertise,” said Soren Hartmann, CEO of the DER Touristik Group, regarding expansion in Romania.

Since October, Travel Brands’ network of travel agencies carries the Dertour brand.

Travel Brands SA is owned by the specialized division on Eastern Europe of the DER Touristik group, which already operates in the markets of the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary and is based in Prague. The transaction price is confidential.

“For us, this acquisition offers new growth opportunities. Now we can offer our successful products to Romanian customers and we look forward to getting to know this market better,” says Ferid Nasr, CEO of DER Touristik’s Eastern Europe Division. .

The new owner has planned for Romania a development of charter products (tourist packages) and the continuation of investments in the online channel.

DER Touristik, the tourism division of the REWE group, owns its own companies in 16 countries and intends to continue its international development and expansion plans. For Romanian customers, this step means direct, extensive and easy access to the products offered by Dertour, using the power and resources of the DER Touristik Group’s specialized division on Eastern Europe.
