BUCHAREST (Romania), December 10th (SeeNews) – Romanian private medical service provider MedLife [BSE:M] said Tuesday it had signed a contract to acquire 100% of the Onco Card Hospital oncology diagnostic and treatment center in Brasov for an undisclosed amount.
“This partnership follows our strategy of expanding and developing the oncology services segment,” said Mihai Marcu, President and CEO of MedLife, in a filing on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
“It is an area of interest to us and we do not rule out that we will consistently invest in top oncological treatment on a national level in the coming years”, Marcu continues.
The transaction is subject to the approval of the Romanian competition authorities. Once approved, it could become the MedLife Group’s most important transaction in 2019, the group said, adding that by acquiring the OncoCard Hospital, MedLife will reach a portfolio of 27 acquired companies, the last of which is Micromedica Medical Center .
The Onco Card Hospital was founded in 2012. Around € 24 million ($ 26.6 million) has been invested in the oncology center since it opened. It had sales of 41.8 million lei in 2018, Medlife said.
