The agency that operates the TUI franchise on the Romanian travel market Starting with 2019, TUI Travel Center part of Memento Group, is expanding this year in five new locations.

“These expansion plans were started in the first part of 2020, but were later put on hold in the context of the pandemic that affected the entire economy. The positive evolution of tourism in recent months, favored by the relaxation of travel conditions in most of the tourist areas sought by Romanians, such as: Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria or Spain, has determined us to resume, and also to accelerate the pace of expansion of our project. ”, said Ştefan Joos, recently appointed General Manager of TUI TravelCenter and with over 16 years of experience in local tourism.

The most sought after holidays among Romanians are charter flights by plane, followed closely by cultural tours, holidays in Romania and exotic stays, the latter being in a sharp increase even in pandemic conditions, when a significant number of tourists from Our country have traveled to destinations such as Zanzibar, Maldives, Dominican Republic or Seychelles. Under these conditions, agencies are increasingly relying on offering packages as varied and complete as possible.

“The TUI TravelCenter product portfolio includes all types of integrated travel services and packages. We rely on the distribution of a complex range of stays and tourist programs, organized by Romanian tour operators, as well as dynamic packages, plane tickets, accommodation or other ancillary services, a real travel marketplace. As a TUI Group franchisee, we have access to a whole universe of experiences and accommodation units from all over the world, at the most advantageous rates, ”adds Joos.

The future plans of the Germans from TUI in Romania, focus on facilitating the online sale of holidays and travel services, they plan consistent investments in consolidating the reservation systems and the online holiday store, which will integrate a very wide range of tourist services. But the prospect of expanding the network of physical travel agencies throughout the country is not left out either. Thus, TUI has expansion plans for the current year in the Transylvania area, even establishing its headquarters in Brasov. In the course of 2022, another 10 new travel agencies will be added, in the most important cities in Romania.

The development of specific infrastructure in the Transylvania area also determines tourism investors to orient themselves more and more towards the cities in the region. “The imminence of the inauguration of the long-awaited International Airport in Brasov, gives us a great impetus in the sense of developing the network of agencies and the possibility of creating charter packages with direct flight from Brasov, as soon as possible,” said Joos.
