UEFA has unveiled the logo of the next edition of the European Football Championship – EURO 2024, which will take place in Germany, in a ceremony that took place on Tuesday night at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, informs the official website of the continental forum.
The UEFA EURO 2024 logo, which was unveiled at 20:24 local time (symbolizing the year the tournament will take place), was inspired by the flags of the 55 member associations of the European Football Union and their colors, which come together in different combinations to reproduce the shape of the roof of the Olympiastadion in the German capital, according to agerpres.
In the center of the logo is the famous Henri Delaunay Cup, surrounded by 24 colored stripes, representing the 24 teams that will take part in EURO 2024.
“The elements of the logo celebrate the diversity of European fans and football” and “convey the image of a EURO to which everyone is welcome,” the UEFA statement said.
“Everyone should feel at home in the world of football, and brand identity is a first step in building that house in Germany at EURO 2024,” said the governing body of European football.
The slogan “United by football. In the heart of Europe” further strengthens the message of unity and cohesion. This is the same slogan used in the application process and was selected together with the ten host cities of EURO 2024: Berlin, Cologne, Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich and Stuttgart. Each of these host cities has chosen an emblematic monument to appear on its logo.
“It’s great to see the UEFA EURO 2024 logo come to life on this legendary Olympic Stadium. Now the tournament has a brand identity that reflects the goal we are pursuing, together with the host federation and host cities, to have a “A EURO that truly addresses everyone. For a month we will be united by football in the heart of Europe,” said UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin.
The event at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin took the form of a grand light show, which ended with the unveiling of the UEFA EURO 2024 logo. This is the result of a close collaboration between UEFA, the German Football Federation and the ten host cities, which began in September 2018, when the organizing country was designated.
The 51 matches of the next edition of the European Football Championship will take place between June 14 and July 14, 2024. The complete program of the matches will be confirmed at the beginning of 2022.
