PNL MP Gabriela Horga states that energy prices are a global phenomenon, and solutions must exist at both national and EU level. One of the levels on which it will intervene is that of SMEs, says the PNL deputy.

“The solutions must be identified at national level, but we also need the support of the European Union.

Virgil Popescu, Minister of Energy, announced that he is working on an aid scheme for SMEs.

The Minister of Energy raised the issue at the level of the European Commission, at the Council of Ministers last week. This issue will probably be discussed at next week’s European Council.

The establishment of an aid scheme at European level would simplify the task of the Romanian authorities.

Regardless of decisions at European level, we will find a formula to support SMEs.

In addition, some form of support for ATUs is needed, given their increases in energy bills.

We have already taken steps in Parliament to support household consumers. We recently adopted in the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies the law of the vulnerable consumer, in order to compensate the increase of energy prices for the low-income Romanians ”, Gabriela Horga writes on Facebook.

The energy price compensation scheme for SMEs I believe will also be approved by emergency ordinance and we want it to be approved from November 1, Energy Minister Virgil Popescu said on Monday evening, after the Government meeting.

“We have prepared, almost completed the scheme for SMEs and, as we want it to be applicable from November 1 … I am by nature an optimistic person and I think we will also approve it by emergency ordinance,” he said. he, adding: “Let’s see how things evolve in Parliament”, referring to the motion of censure that will be submitted to the vote of the two Chambers on Tuesday.
