The public road construction and management company CNAIR has signed the contract to design the Fagaras-Brasov motorway in central Romania, a 48 km section of the A3 Transylvania motorway. According to Transport Minister Catalin Drula, the company that won the contract will be responsible for carrying out the feasibility study and the detailed technical planning.
“This 48 km section of the A3 Transylvania motorway was auctioned off this spring after 10 years of inactivity,” said Drula on his Facebook page.
The route begins at an intersection that connects Codlea with the Ploiesti-Brasov motorway and ends near Fagaras through a high-speed intersection that connects with the Sibiu-Fagaras motorway. In addition, the designer in the Brasov area will also ensure the connection to the Brasov-Bacau motorway, the minister said.
“Similar to the A7 – Moldova motorway, Fagaras-Brasov will benefit from a complete and complex design. This means that after the end of the contract, the execution of the work will be put out to tender immediately (ie the equipment on the construction site from day one), ”says Drula.
